Rolling dish (Nuraghic complex of Albucciu)

The rolling dish was found, in fragments, in room n of Nuraghe Albucciu, located in the territory of Arzachena, in the vicinity of cabinet 1 (figs. 1, 2).

The terracotta artefact, used in Nuraghic living quarters, was used for baking flat bread and / or probably leavened bread.

The partially reconstructed finding has a discoid shape (fig. 3).

The mixture is very coarse, and the surfaces are yellow-brown. One of the two sides still shows the mark of the basket on which the rolling dish was left to dry before its firing (fig. 4).

The chronological reference lies between the fourteenth and twelfth centuries B.C., in full Nuraghic Age. The artefact is exhibited at the National Archaeological Museum G.A. Sanna of Sassari.
