Black slipware

(Punic Age)

Fragments of black slipware have been found on the high part of the Posada hill, together with those from ancient Greek-Italic and Punic amphorae. They are all walls and for this reason it is not possible to attribute the fragments in defined forms. A foot was found in the old town centre, however, that is probably from an Attican beaker and the fragments of four central-Italian beakers, three of which of a Lamboglia 27 form (fig. 1) that may hypothetically belong to the production of atelier des petits estampilles. These items can be dated from the end of the 4th to the beginning of the 3rd century B.C., and were also found in the area of Orosei, in Barbagia di Seui and in the sanctuary of Abini, Teti (figs. 2-3-4).
