Sant’Eulalia Museum Complex - MUTSEU

The MUTSEU (fig. 1), the Sant’Eulalia museum complex, is in vico del Collegio 2, in a building adjacent to the church of the same name, in the historical district of Marina in Cagliari: it includes the archaeological area, the exhibition of finds from the same site and the Treasure Museum (fig. 2).

The building is on three floors: on the ground floor the Archives of the Parish and of the extinct Arciconfraternities of the Crucifix and the Holy Trinity and Precious Blood of Christ (XVII - first half XX century, fig. 3).

Upstairs the historical-artistic heritage of the three churches of Sant'Eulalia, Santa Lucia and Santo Sepolcro in the same district: this includes silver, sacred vestments, wooden statues covering a period going from 1500 to 1700 and valuable paintings (fig. 4).

From under the ground floor you can reach the museum archaeological area; walking along the walkways allows you to appreciate some of the finds made during the digs, and gives you an overall vision of the late antiquity district finds, whilst keeping the items in their original context (fig. 5).
