Tomb in chamber no. 10

The tomb in chamber no. 10 is north of tomb no. 5, more or less in the central area of the hypogeum necropolis of Monte Sirai. The necropolis, as we know, dates back to the period of the victory of Carthage and is dated between 500 and 250 B.C. circa.

The entrance, at the end of the usual access corridor (named dromos) with steps (figs. 1-2), is on one of the long sides, like in tombs 2, 4 and 8 of the same necropolis.

The chamber is rectangular; the walls contain niches and loculi (fig. 3). Four pits dug into the floor could house offers and perhaps of a funeral bed, or another structure (fig. 4).
