Glazed ceramic bottle
A green glazed type ceramic bottle, found in the giants’ tomb of Thomes (figs. 1, 2). It is a vessel specifically used to hold liquids.

About 14 cm high, it belongs to a pottery class in use during the Late Ancient and High-Medieval Ages in Italy. It has a flat bottom, the body has a sub-cylindrical profile, a cylindrical neck, a rim slightly folded outwards. The mixture is purified and a red-brown colour (figs. 3, 4).

The artefact documents inhabitation of the giants’ tomb of Thomes during the Middle Ages, between the seventh-eighth and the fourteenth century A.D., almost certainly related to the medieval villages of Nurule and Isarle, founded near the prehistoric funerary monument.
