Circle No. 3

The dolmen circle n. 3, the smallest of the necropolis of Li Muri (fig. 1), consists of a masonry circle, in whose centre is placed a small funerary quadrangular stone chamber, called cista, NS oriented, and whose walls consist of four large slabs fixed vertically in the ground.

There is a further slab placed flat which acts as a cover. Inside it could contain one or at most two burials (fig. 2).

The diameter of the dolmen circle measures 4.40 metres.

The tomb, attributable to the megalithic-type funerary architecture, was once covered by a round mound of soil and stones, almost as if to form a small hill.

Only the stones of the double external walls and the cista contained therein remain of the entire circle.

The small sized rubble it contains is all that remains today of the original mound (fig. 3).
