Stone model of single-tower Nuraghe
A limestone votive stone, with a highly symbolic value, made into a tower Nuraghe, was found in hut 80 of the Nuragic village in Barumini (figs. 1, 2, 3, 4).
The model (residual height 35cm), has architectural elements that are typical of the single-tower Nuraghe, such as for example, the terrace, portrayed by a wide, smooth band marked with deep grooves, indicating the corbels that jutted out from the top part of the tower, and there is a cylindrical shape in the centre of the terrace that indicated the staircase roof. The item, which can be dated to the 9th-8th centuries B.C. (Iron Age), is current exhibited at the Casa Zapata Museum in Barumini.
