The wooden statue

There was also a wooden statue among the sacred items from the church of San Nicola di Trullas, that can be dated to a period after the one in which the building of worship and frescoes were created, perhaps the late 14th century. Until recent times, the statue was kept in a niche in the eighteenth century altar, and now has no right arm. It represents a Benedictine saintly bishop, perhaps San Nicola, although there are some doubts, as the saint has no beard, as he usually was. The wooden statue is currently in the B.A.P.S.A.E. Superintendence for the provinces of Sassari and Nuoro storerooms in the former Jesuit college of Canopoleno in Sassari.
